SIX TIER EDIBLE CAKE

‘Eat’

(Short Film)

MATERIALS

Vanilla sponge cake, strawberry jam, buttercream, fondant icing and edible glitter.

In her role as Cake/Food Stylist on the film ‘Eat’, Henrietta made a six-tiered cake for a daydream sequence.

The sponge was vanilla with a strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream filling. The decoration was made from different shades of blue fondant icing crafted into various sized flowers to cascade down the sides, with a rose for the top. Mixing white and blue icing together created marble effect butterflies. It took a total of three days to make. The finished result was entirely edible and was eaten on camera by one of the child actors.
